DESCRIPTION:The Movie Madness First Friday Artist Spotlight Series returns with the SOV horror oddity\, 777 (1997)\, screening twice at 6pm (sold out) and 8pm (sold out) with star Brian Harper in attendance. \nAfter watching a VHS tape of serial killer Ray Hineman\, Rob\, a young teen\, interprets a journey to salvation can be found through the sacrifice of human life.  As his body count rises and the truth of his strange macabre neighborhood comes to light\, Rob spirals deeper into a surreal fever dream he can’t return from. \nThis 1997 shot on video blood soaked affair was created entirely by freshman in high school.  Filled with creative homemade special effects and a passion for the slasher genre\, this feature brings you into a hellscape that can only exist at night. \nWe will be joined by lead actor\, Brian Harper\, for a QA after each screening. Here is a little bit about his role in the film:\n“My name is Brian Harper and I played the lead role of Rob and helped create 777.  Colin Anson (Director) and I met in grade school and bonded over our love for film.  We were both obsessed with Horror and sketch comedy\, which would lead to us creating numerous short films.  In 1996\, during our freshman year of high school\, we decided to shoot our first feature film.  777 was the finished product after a year and a half devotion to this art form.  I’ve called Portland my home for 15yrs and never expected nor imagined to have this childhood artifact be unearthed again.  It is a real honor for this opportunity and I’m stoked for this to have a wider audience.” \n\n \nTickets available below:\nHollywood Theatre – 777 – Movie Madness First Friday\n\nThis film is available on the Bleeding Skull “Backyard Bloodbaths” blu-ray collection.
